"I bought two of these last Christmas for my daughters (aged 11 and 9). Build quality is amazing - all aluminium case. Keyboard is better quality than most full size laptops (including in my view Lenovo / IBM) and is not far off full size (92%). I ordered replacement 2GB RAM modules for about £15 each (easy to install) to maximise performance, and then installed Windows XP Pro via a USB DVD drive which runs fine. I had a brief play with the Linux distro but my kids use Windows at school so that had to be the OS installed. All the drivers for XP are on the HP website. I`m keen to try installing Win7 but I can`t get the netbooks out of my kids hands long enough to get chance! Screen resolution is extremely high but on an 8.9 screen you need to increase the font size to make for more comfortable viewing. The built in speakers on each side of the screen are seriously powerful, loud, and clear with as much bass as you can reasonably expect. CPU isn`t hugely powerful - VIA 1.2Ghz - but you can run full screen video at 30 FPS with the right codecs (check the HP Mini Note forums for advice), and all the usual web / social networking stuff works fine, as does webcam, voice chat, office apps, iTunes etc. Battery lasts a couple of hours with wifi in use. Also has a 120GB HDD which obviously uses more power than a SSD but at least it gives tons of storage. Built in webcam is good quality, and also has an SD card reader. All in all I`d recommend to anyone looking for a robust, reliable, good looking and highly portable netbook and who doesn`t want to play graphic intensive games or edit huge amounts of video and photos (although it is possible - just a bit slow). And at this price, it is an absolute bargain and a great Christmas present. I`ll give this netbook 5 stars even though the CPU lets it down a little, and it really needs 2GB RAM to perform well. But at this price it deserves 5 stars...!!!"
